On Thursday 27th April 2023, we ordered 166 prescription medicine lines from our supplier.


Yesterday, we learnt they were unable to supply 70 of these. That’s 42% of items out of stock, or almost 1 in 2.
Of course, this is not an exhaustive list - this is a list on ONE day.


Our pharmacists are already struggling to get the medicines required for our patients. With 60 day dispensing, this will only get so much worse, meaning some patients will receive double quantities, and many others will miss out.


Today, on Saturday 29th April, 398 medicines are listed by the TGA as having a current shortage, and 73 medicines are listed as anticipated shortage.


For Mark Butler to bring this in now, and to say “only 7 medicines are out of stock” is a straight up lie.
